Power distribution units are used to connect IT equipment to the electrical power system inside the cabinet. BRZh provides the ability to connect a large amount of IT equipment within the computer cabinet, and can also have additional functionality for remote monitoring of power supply parameters and control of individual sockets. Power distribution units are divided into three main types:
- Basic (Basic) - units with the simplest functionality, which are intended only for connecting equipment. It may include filters to protect against power grid disturbances and automatic switches to protect against overload.
- Metered - such power distribution units additionally have the possibility of remote monitoring of voltage parameters, power consumption, and also allow to configure user notification of critical or emergency problems in the power supply area.
- Controlled (Switched) - Controlled power distribution units provide full control of load parameters and allow remote switching on and off of individual sockets for restarting equipment, sequential switching on of equipment and individual control of power from sockets. This type of BRZ has the greatest functionality and is designed for high power.
